Volumen Cero has some new tour dates! Check them out: Fall 2005. I am going to see them in Miami on Sep 15th.

"Volumen Cero delivers a collection of driving, catchy tracks. The mix
of Luis Tamblay's raspy vocals, mixed with touches of electronica and
fine guitar, give the act a distinctive, utterly pleasant sound." -

"Miami-based Volumen Cero's new release, "Estelar" (Warner Latina),
establishes it as the United States' most accomplished Latin rock

Lush and vast, Esteler exudes a cosmic brillance all its own. Caught
between their Latin roots and American lives, Volumen's music crosses
cultural barriers that most bands trip on." - STREET WEEKLY

"With guitars ringing and synthesizers keening over thundering drums
and an occasional burst of punk energy, Volumen is a close cousin to
the Cure and early U2 -- but with a velvety lushness laid over its hard
rock bones". - MIAMI HERALD

"Five out of five stars for this second offering from Miami's Volumen

With the band's first single "Autos" spending over 10 weeks in the ..1
spot and 20 weeks in the top 3 spots of R&R's Latin Rock Chart, and now
a nomination for Best Latin Rock Album by a Duo or Group, Volumen
Cero's sophomore release on Warner, "Estelar", continues to garner
recognition as one of the best Latin Rock albums by media and industry

Last year, Volumen Cero made history when they became one of the first
Latin alternative groups ever to be profiled on MTV's Advance Warning,
which aired on MTV and MTV2. Volumen Cero joined the ranks of such
buzzworthy acts as M.I.A, Franz Ferdinand, The Arcade Fire, Hot Hot
Heat, Snow Patrol, Jason Mraz, other on the verge artists who have
been featured in past Advance Warning episodes. As a result, the band's
video Autos landed on MTV's Top 40 video playlist.

Volumen Cero is composed of Luis Tamblay (vocals/bass), Marthin Chan
(guitar) and Fernando Sanchez (drums). Based out of Miami , they
possess diverse Latin American backgrounds, hailing from Chile, Peru
and Colombia - representing a new generation of Latinos in the U.S.
This bilingual and bicultural trio offers a fresh take on New Wave
inspired music. They fluidly transition through both Latino and Anglo
worlds, showcasing their duality on the new album, Estelar , which
features two English-Language tracks, Biscayne and The Universe
- a first for the band. The rest of the album shines with nine
infectious tracks, including a cover of Argentine classic A Donde
Quiera Que Voy . The album was produced by celebrated industry veteran
Gustavo Menendez.

Volumen Cero members are also tied to JD Natasha's multiple-nominated
album "Imperfecta/Imperfect. Fernando Sanchez recorded drums for the
album, and Marthin Chan co-wrote two tracks, including "Lagrimas" for
which he also received a Latin GRAMMY nomination for Best Rock Song.

The band will be touring throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and South
America in September and October, see website for details.

OK, kaool burned me a CD with Molotov in the begginning and other random Spanish rock songs in the end of it. Well, Molotov i knew was gonna rock, but I really really really (can't stress enough) like a lot of the other songs on the CD and i have no clue who they are by. So, kaool some day i am gonna have to go through your Ipod and figure it out, because it is very importiant to me. But anyway, the point of this post is she told me that she got the songs from this online spanish radio station that someone in this community told her about and judging by the songs she put on that CD, this is a radio station that i wanna hear! SO, i am posting to ask what it is. I really wanna listen to it, because those songs are so good.

I now own all three of their CDs and I am in the process of typing up the lyrics. It would be a lot easier if I spoke Spanish and if I had a Spanish keyboard :P

I'm doing Estelar first. Does anyone have any requests? I can type up specific ones first if you want.

Also, I Photoshopped these: under the cutCollapse )
